Cassidy Opticians, Inc. has been family owned and operated since 1949.  R.J. Cassidy started the business in the Medical Center of Houston, Texas.  His daughter, Kathy Cassidy has owned and operated the business, since his passing in 1983.   R.J. relocated the business to Shepherd Dr. and that is where it remained until, 1994.  At which time Kathy relocated the business to its current location at 2900 Westheimer Rd,  in the River Oaks Area.  

In carrying on with the family tradition, in 1995, Kathy's daughter Kim Fleeman, came to work in the family business.  The family also includes Gary Chamoff, who has worked with the Cassidy family for the past 33 years.
